Born at home on 4th December 2024, Darcie's story began with an immediate and daunting challenge. Diagnosed at just a few days old with Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa (JEB), she faced a rare genetic condition where even the softest touch causes painful blistering and severe wounds.

Children born with JEB rarely reach their second birthday, and in August 2026, at just 19 months old, Darcie grew her wings. Despite her short time with us, Darcie was a true warrior who greeted her days with a signature smile and a joyful nod. We gather to honour her incredible courage, strength, and resilience, and to ensure no child faces this "butterfly skin" condition alone.

Dinner
The Gala will feature a dinner of expertly-prepared seasonal dishes, bursting with flavor and elegance. For dessert, a beautiful gourmet cake will be served.

Our DJ will keep the energy vibrant all evening, expertly blending a mix of classic hits, fan favorites, and dance floor anthems. Bring your dancing shoes!

All proceeds from Darcie's Gala will be donated to Debra UK.
Debra UK is a national medical research charity and patient support organisation for anyone in the UK living with EB, their family members, carers, plus healthcare professionals and researchers specialising in EB.

Debra UK has almost 4,000 members, and supports over 600 individuals through their EB Community Support Team each year. The EB Community Support Team aims to improve the quality of life for people living with all types of EB. They provide information, guidance, and advocacy for the wider EB community including families and carers.
​
In 2024, Debra UK invested over £3.4m in EB research, EB community care and support, and EB specialist healthcare.
